The Program Manager reports to the Director of Programs on AAUW’s Fellowships & Programs team and is responsible for key program relationships, operations, and coordination for AAUW’s signature programs, including salary negotiation, leadership, and education and training.
Essential Duties:
Program Operations
Create and maintain documentation for all standard operating procedures
Serve as project manager for implementation of programmatic changes and updates and coordinate team member work to ensure smooth execution
Manage communications to volunteers and external stakeholders
Initiate and catalogue all invoice processing and revenue tracking for workshops and licenses
Report on and follow up with contacts and potential collaborators
Develop strategies for implementing and communicating key program developments, changes, and efforts
Collaborate with AAUW Communications team to maintain website and LMS content
Training and Facilitation
Represent AAUW at relevant events and present AAUW content as an expert workshop facilitator and trainer
Support AAUW’s Work Smart and Start Smart facilitators, including tracking of certification and ongoing communication
Management of Workshops/Initiatives
Oversee workshop contract execution and tracking
Coordinate project roles and relationships between initiative partners and AAUW staff including workshop/online logistics such as the development and implementation program timelines, marketing, and outreach goals
Execute process for workshop site selection and manage follow-up with new workshop sites
Cultivate relationships and conduct outreach for Work Smart Online and Work Smart/Smart Start promotional partners
Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual workshops
Execute post-workshop engagement with a focus on community building
Nimble Administration
Serve as the program subject matter expert on Nimble, built on the Salesforce platform
Lead the ongoing data management of contacts using Nimble
Administer Nimble integrations with other platforms including Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, Docebo and AdobeSign
Strategize and implement customizations and structure of records to fit evolving program needs
Research and initiate solutions for automation and process-building to expand staff capacity and streamline workflows
Create reports and dashboards to support data-driven decisions and track the program’s progress towards goals
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and controls to ensure the standardization of records
Maintain data integrity via merges, imports, updates and other routine measures
All other duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of work experience in program management or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been attained also provides the necessary components to perform the Program Manager role
Database management experience required. Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Office. Comfort learning and working with new technologies.
Direct experience managing, tracking, and facilitating a high volume of incoming requests, documents, inquiries, and reports in a timely and effective manner
Excellent public speaking and communication skills; experience facilitating workshops and trainings
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners
Able to work independently and flexibly, as part of a team, and effectively with colleagues and volunteers
Comfortable and able to excel in fast-paced, fluid environments and able to quickly transition from one strategy to another in reaction to new information
Able to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities
Adept at relationship-building and stewardship of key stakeholders and volunteers
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to inclusion and equity.

Compensation and Location:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 (commensurate with experience) and it is offered along with a competitive benefits package. The position is based in Washington, DC.
AAUW is a non-profit organization whose headquarters and staff are based in Washington, D.C. This is an in-office position with the option of working remotely up to three days per week. In keeping with AAUW's commitment to a safe working environment, AAUW will required selected candidates to submit proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to extending a job offer. If a candidate has a qualifying medical condition that contraindicates a covid-19 vaccination, a medical exemp0tion form should be requested from Human Resources.
