This position coordinates support for a broad set of member engagement activities originating primarily within the Volunteer Engagement and Leadership Division. Working at the direction of the Executive Director, US-Canada, and working with other members on the VEL team, this important role will deliver a consistent, efficient, and high-quality volunteer and member experience.
The core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates activities to meet deliverables, project plans, and timelines related to key senior volunteer groups, including Commissions, CASE 50, US/Canada Regional Council, Europe Regional Council, and Regional Council Coordinating Group. This includes managing the support, logistics, travel, and reimbursements related to both in-person and online meetings.
Works with Executive Director, US/Canada to identify and manage other key member engagement activities.
Manages operational and logistical support for the Council for Alumni Association Executives (CAAE).
Works with colleagues across the organization to maximize use of new and emerging software to enhance the volunteer and staff experience, create efficiencies, and identify opportunities for volunteers to engage more deeply with the organization.
Works with, and mentors, colleagues across the association to ensure the effective delivery of services to volunteers and to identify opportunities to create synergies among the various volunteer groups to increase service delivery efficiencies and improvement.
Interacts regularly with volunteers and implements effective relationship management techniques to ensure that they have a positive and rewarding experience.
Serves as a key participant in division-wide projects and activities that seek to engage members and volunteers more deeply in the organization.
Travels as needed to support volunteer-related activities across multiple cost centers.
Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
Ensures that CASE resources are utilized effectively and responsibly.
Performs Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned by the Supervisor
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3-4 years’ work experience in project coordination within a member-service environment required.
Related experience or transferable skills in educational advancement, volunteer management, and event planning experience highly desirable.

A demonstrated interest in advancing education in the not-for-profit sector.

An understanding of and interest in engaging with a broad range of cultures and countries.
Superior member service skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of constituents and executive-level professionals, both internal and external.
Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheet or other project management applications, and database programs.
Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision, working both independently and within a team to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
