The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) seeks a Conference Assistant to support the Association’s conference and event activities.
This position will be responsible for many day-to-day administrative tasks including, but not limited to, preparing conference event materials; packing/unpacking event materials and equipment; coordinating logistics for virtual events; assisting with the pre-registration process via the Association’s databases; providing assistance as needed to the other members of the Meetings and Conferences team; and other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The position will report directly to the Senior Director of Meetings & Conferences.
The qualified candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and has at least one year of experience in a professional office environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity working with a membership database (Community Brands’ NetForum or similar), Eventsential, HigherLogic, and HTML experience is a plus. The position requires frequently moving boxes and equipment around the office weighing up to 30 pounds.
The ideal candidate is customer service-focused, proactive, self-starter, meticulous, and highly organized. They must be detailed oriented while also being able to “see the big picture” as it relates to the administrative tasks required. The candidate must also be a quick learner with strong written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate is interested in learning new skills and growing with the organization.
Out-of-town and overnight travel may occasionally be required for this position. This position is eligible for hybrid telecommuting. Employees must be in the office minimally every Tuesday and Thursday but may occasionally be required to be in-office more.
