This position is responsible for the execution of marketing and communication projects to promote the Atla brand, vision, and news to internal and external audiences. In collaboration with others, the individual in this role implements marketing plans and campaigns across all areas of the organization and is primarily responsible for the creation of marketing and communication products including print and electronic publications, properties, presence, and materials.?The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills and proven marketing and communications experience for a variety of audiences. The individual in this role must be an effective communicator, quick learner, and able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Following the Atla Style Guide and Chicago Manual of Style:
creates and edits content for Atla properties and publications, including the newsletter, bog, websites, and social media properties.
proofs copy for Atla digital content and print collateral.
writes and executes email campaigns and press releases according to marketing schedule.
Maintain content and design style standards and guidelines for the association including quality, tone, and style.
Maintains the Atla Style Guide to include creation and maintenance of house style guides for internal use by Atla staff.
Implement association public relations activities including the writing, editing, and disseminating of news releases for all areas of Atla, ensuring content reflects the association in tone and style.
Author and coordinate the writing, compiling, editing, and proofing of electronic and print content and materials including blog posts, social media posts, and the creation and delivery of a monthly member newsletter.
Execution of marketing projects to promote and create brand awareness, distribute news and updates, and engage with various audiences such as members, publishers, and product users.
Collaborates closely with other members of the Marketing and Communications team to facilitate communication and execution of professional development opportunities for members, including webinars, workshops, and presentations online and/or in-person; collaborative projects; and other membership-related campaigns.
Collaborate with other Atla teams to maintain the Atla website, other web properties, and associated content to include making updates to Atla web properties as needed.
Implement the association content strategy for social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), online, and in print publications including developing of a pipeline of content, soliciting contributions both internally and externally, monitoring other information sources and identifying appropriate content of interest to the audience to highlight or share.
Make recommendations for content and campaigns, coordinate contact lists, implement third-party email campaigns.
Regularly collect and make available statistics about the work product of the Marketing and Communications team to support data driven decisions and support for organization-wide projects.
Regularly collaborate with the Membership and Engagement team, other internal staff, and consultants to enhance and improve member and prospect interactions both in-person and online such as through websites, online portal, online community site, and communication vehicles (email, newsletter, social media).
Collaborate with Atla’s Membership Engagement and Education team to ensure continuity of communications across Membership and Engagement teams and delivery of the highest level of member service.
Primary ownership of administrative tasks in shared Marketing and Communications team operations, including online order processing, partner and member email, webinar, and event support via email, phone, association management system and other third-party tools.
Create and regularly update standard operating procedures for Marketing and Communications team.
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Specialist to create and maintain calendar(s) for all activities across the association that is/are rich in content of interest to Atla’s audiences.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education.

Proven experience in writing communications.

Desirable Experience
Experience working in a library, cultural heritage organization, membership association, library consortium, or affiliated educational, nonprofit, or professional organization.
Exposure to religious or theological higher education environment such as a theological or religious studies library, or coursework in religious studies or theology.
