Medical society seeks an experienced meetings professional to be responsible for all annual meeting logistics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning and conducting site visits; future site selection; contracting, planning, and executing all meeting logistics including developing and monitoring related budgets, F&B selection, hotel block management, assigning space, vendor oversight, etc.
This position has no direct staff reports. Successful candidate must be an organized and detail-oriented team player with experience executing the day-to-day logistical responsibilities required of a complex CME meeting with a minimum of 1,500 attendees. Exceptional project management and communication skills are a must have as well as strong advocacy, negotiating, and contracting skills with experience working with hotels and convention centers. Individual must be able to take direction, perform administrative as well as managerial tasks as part of the daily work of this position, and multi-task to meet competing deadlines. Travel is required. College degree preferred; association/nonprofit experience, medical meetings experience, and a CMP highly desirable. The American Roentgen Ray Society, founded in 1900, is the first and oldest radiology society in the United States. The society has been a forum for progress in radiology since shortly after the discovery of the X-ray and is dedicated to the goal of the advancement of medicine through the science of radiology and its allied sciences. The goal of the ARRS is maintained through an annual scientific and educational meeting and through publication of the American Journal of Roentgenology.
