Overview: The Communications Associate is an entry-level role that provides essential support to stabilize and strengthen the Marketing and Communications department. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who can execute tasks accurately, follow through on assignments, and help bring structure to workflows. The Associate will gain hands-on experience in writing, digital content, project coordination, and member communications in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field (or in progress).
1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, content creation, or related work.
Qualifications:
Strong writing and editing skills for newsletters, print and web copy, and social media posts.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines reliably.
Drafting content for marketing and communications campaigns.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram).
Familiarity with Canva, CMS/CRM tools, and basic project tracking preferred but not required.
Highly organized, dependable, and able to take initiative in day-to-day work.
Collaborative, adaptable, and willing to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and edit content for newsletters, website pages, social media posts, and internal communications.
Assist with social media scheduling and monitoring to ensure timely, accurate posts.
Support project tracking and administrative tasks, including maintaining calendars, shared folders, and email inboxes.
Help implement and maintain simple workflow processes to improve department efficiency.
Respond to member and internal inquiries promptly and professionally.
Contribute to department-wide content and process improvements as assigned.
Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks assigned to support departmental goals.
