The National Association of Home Builders seeks a professional to provide first-level support to the internal NAHB functions requirements of the National Housing Center, which takes place throughout the NAHB-occupied floors. Included among these priorities is the coordination and support of NAHB stakeholder meetings.
The Event Specialist provides back-office support as directed by the Managing Director, NHC, including reviewing and approving conference room calendar requests, external/internal billing, and NHC record-keeping. Additionally, the Event Specialist will provide as-needed support to external client events, which may require working outside of standard building operation hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsible for processing all external/internal billing for all events held in the NHC, including maintenance of client information, contact, and financial records, tracking invoices, and deposits.
Manage the NHC calendar and provides first-level assistance to NHC client requests.
Provides On-site meeting support: confirm vendor deliveries for events held in the NHC, such as linen and catering deliveries. Communicate any food and beverage needs to banquet support staff for onsite meetings. Serve as the on-site point of contact for the Functions Team for internal meetings. May serve as a point of contact to external client groups hosting onsite events in the NHC as needed.
Will assist in NHC marketing efforts, including facilitating updates to the NHC website and social media platforms.
Collaborate with internal clients on event logistics to ensure a quality meeting experience and ensure the Managing Director, NHC, is apprised of special meeting requirements. Ensure that all such commitments are reflected in the NHC functions calendar.
At least three years of experience in conference center operations support, meeting/event support, and hospitality is required. Experience with back-office tasks such as calendar management, invoice, and payment processing is highly desirable. Must be able to lift and carry equipment (20-30 lbs.) Associate of Science degree in the related field of study, related field, or comparable education and experience required.
